Carved giant pumpkins on hay bales at the Great Pumpkin Carve in Chadds Ford, Delaware County, Pennsylvania

That gives you food, live music, giant pumpkins, Halloween costumes and an opportunity to seriously overestimate your upper-body strength.

I grew up in Havertown, and keeping up with Delco is a big part of what I share through City to Suburbs. Here are the five events from my October video, with the details to help you plan.

1. Media’s State Street Fall Festival — October 4

When: Sunday, October 4, 2026, 11 a.m.–5 p.m.

Where: State Street and Veterans Square, Media.

The Media Business Authority’s festival brings vendors, a food truck court and live music to downtown Media.

My suggestion: leave time to wander. This is a good afternoon to meet up with someone, grab something to eat and browse without turning the whole day into an itinerary.

View the organizer’s festival details.

2. The Great Pumpkin Carve in Chadds Ford — October 15–17

When: October 15–17, 2026.

Where: Chadds Ford Historical Society.

More than 70 giant pumpkins are carved and illuminated by local artists. Thursday features the carving; Friday and Saturday feature the finished, lit displays. There’s also live music and food available to buy.

If you’re going for the glowing pumpkins, plan for after dark. Wear shoes you’re comfortable walking in on grass and uneven ground.

Check the Great Pumpkin Carve schedule and visitor information.

3. Bark in the Park at Rose Tree Park — October 24

When: Saturday, October 24, 2026, 9 a.m.–3 p.m.

Where: Rose Tree Park, Media.

Providence Animal Center’s fundraiser combines a dog-friendly 5K and one-mile walk with a fall festival featuring food trucks, vendors, music and dog contests.

You don’t need a dog to attend. And if running isn’t your thing, there’s still a festival.

Bringing your dog? The organizer requires current rabies vaccination and a leash; retractable leashes aren’t allowed.

See Bark in the Park details and registration.

4. Media’s Halloween Parade — October 24

When: Saturday, October 24, 2026, starting at 11 a.m.

Where: Along State Street in Media.

Media’s Halloween Parade puts costumes and community groups right in the middle of downtown. Participating groups can hand out candy, so this is an opportunity to get another use out of that Halloween costume before the 31st.

Planning note: This shares a date with Bark in the Park. The parade starts at 11 a.m., so decide which event you want to prioritize rather than assuming the schedules won’t overlap.

View Media Borough’s parade information.

5. Linvilla’s All You Can Carry Pumpkin Challenge — October 31

When: Saturday, October 31, 2026.

Where: Pumpkinland at Linvilla Orchards.

Load yourself up with pumpkins, walk the required distance and keep what you carry across the finish line without dropping for $29.99.

Someone can help load you up, but bags, carts and wagons aren’t allowed. The pumpkins have to be on you.

Apparently, buying one pumpkin like a normal person was too easy.

Check Linvilla’s Pumpkinland page for the challenge details.

Thinking about making Delco home?

A weekend event is a good reason to explore an area. Choosing where to live takes a closer look at your budget, commute, parking and the kind of home you want.
